Interior design can feel like a mystery. Are we decorators? Do we only pick out furniture? Do we handle construction? The reality is, an interior designer can do all of the above—and so much more. If you’ve ever wondered whether you need an interior designer, what we actually do, or which service is the best fit for you, I’m breaking it all down for you!
When one of our past clients reached out with the unexpected news that they were moving, we knew we had to make their new house feel just as special as the home we had previously designed for them. This project was all about blending the pieces they loved with a brand-new space, honoring their nostalgia while creating fresh, intentional designs. From a stunning built-in bar area to a cozy, light-filled living room and a playful yet timeless kids' space, every detail was thoughtfully curated to reflect their family’s style.
As the new year begins, there’s no better time to refresh your home and start decluttering after the whirlwind of the holidays. In the hustle and bustle of family life, clutter can sneak up on us, filling living rooms with extra toys, cramming junk drawers that no longer close, and turning spare rooms into storage catch-alls. Sound familiar? You’re not alone!
As the fall leaves fade and winter’s chill settles in, it’s natural to want to transform your home to reflect the season’s beauty. With the holidays on the horizon, decorating doesn’t have to be a budget-breaking or time-consuming process. On today’s post, let’s focus on creating a cozy, inviting home for gatherings that feels authentic to your family’s style.
When I first met the Lewis family, I was particularly excited because, as someone who knows modern farmhouses inside and out, I felt an immediate connection with the client’s vision. They had already resonated with another project we were working on, so when they reached out, they told me our styles would naturally align (and yes, that’s quite literally what she said in her first email).
When I first met this family, they were in the very beginning stages of the new build process. They had decided to tear down their existing home and replace it with a pre-fabricated farmhouse they purchased from a company in another state. What does that mean? Well basically, the home was shipped to them via truck in large segments. So rather than building from scratch they already had the framework for the house and they brought me in to design the inside.
We've been busy brainstorming behind the scenes of how we could better serve you this year. And I’m excited to officially announce (on the blog) the launch of a brand new (and very exclusive) service called the “The Ultimate Closet Makeover”. The service that will change your life in one day!
If you follow our Instagram account, you’ve probably heard me refer to our Maple Valley Project, more than once. That’s because I’ve had the opportunity to design not one, but now two of their homes over the years. But let’s start from the beginning and I’ll fill you in on how it all started and where it’s going.
Welcome to my closet! After several questions regarding my closet design and the organization systems I use, I’m finally getting around to sharing all the details of this beautiful space I was lucky enough to design myself. I’m giving you the full run down of how I designed this space and links to all the products I use to keep this space beautiful and organized!
My favorite season of the year is Fall. The change of weather, the fashion, pumpkin everything and my birthday month (October)…what’s not to love! I also love nothing more than to decorate my home for the season. This year, I kept it super with a few pumpkins sprinkled throughout, and really honed in on all the Fall colors like rust, burgundy and sand.
Everyday coastal living is a phrase I coined after really thinking about my design style. The types of colors, textures and products I lean towards and how I want my home (and my clients homes) to feel. And the best part? You don’t need to live near the water to achieve this style.
I was lucky enough to be asked by Redfin to share my favorite design trend from 2020. The pandemic has had a major impact on how we live our day to day lives. And one place where we can see a lot of the change happening for ourselves is within our homes. From the way we work, to the way we exercise, to the way we recreate. Our homes have had to adapt in ways that we never thought possible resulting in some pretty unique trends in design and functionality both inside and out.
Happy Holidays! Now that we are officially into the swing of the holiday season, I thought it would be fun to do a tour of all the Christmas decor throughout my house this year. Truth be told, I decorated a week before Thanksgiving (which is so early for me) because I was just really feeling in the holiday spirit!
It’s FINALLY here! The home tour you’ve all been waiting for! I’m sharing all the details from our newly renovated house! I can't wait to see what you guys think.
I’m happy to announce that our home renovation has come to an end! Actually, who am I kidding? I begged my construction team to let us move in on December 1st, because we had to be out of our rental or else we would have been charged extra per day and because I just wanted to be back in my house and start to feel normal again in time for the holidays.
With Thanksgiving next week, this is the room I can’t stop thinking about. I love to entertain, and although we won't be in the house for the holiday, I can’t help but dream of one day hosting a holiday dinner in this space.
Since we are doing an open concept living/dining/kitchen, I wanted the kitchen to feel bright & airy as to compliment the rest of the large space. I did this by making sure there was a ton of natural light via several windows to really open up the space even more.
I had intended to do this every month or so to keep you guys updated, but let’s be honest, life is freaking BUSY! This remodel has taken over much more of my life than I thought. Read more to find out what we’ve had done during the remodel and where we are in the process!
When I first walked into our new space after it was framed I was shocked at not only how ENORMOUS if felt, but also how incredibly small the previous living/dining/kitchen area felt. Since our house was built in the 40's, it was a bit claustrophobic with only 7.5 feet ceilings and the living room closed off to the kitchen.
As promised, I am sharing all my inspiration for our dream home remodel room by room and today is the Master Bedroom! This is one room I'm most excited for {let's be real, I'm excited for all of them} as I was never in love with our old bedroom.
A couple weeks ago I gave you the lowdown on our entire house remodel/addition experience and where we were in the process. As promised, here is my dream home inspiration, starting with the exterior.
If you follow me on Instagram, then you've heard me talk about our home remodel that is in the process of taking place {very soon}. This has been something we have gone back and forth on for almost a year now, but it's FINALLY happening and we could not be more excited!
