First of all, I can’t believe my baby girl is officially THREE years old! When did that happen?! We are so insanely proud of the amazing little person she is becoming - with a vibrant personality, kind heart and sense of humor just like her daddy (well me too, I suppose). That being said, it was time for her to upgrade to a little (big) girl room since her current room will become the new nursery.
Up until about a month ago she was still in her crib. Hey, if your toddler hasn’t figured out how to climb out yet, keep them contained as long as possible! The only reason we ended up getting her a toddler bed is because with new baby sister coming in September, we wanted to incorporate the new bed at the same time since she would be getting an entirely new bedroom. We decided to do this a few months before baby arrives so she didn’t feel as if we were kicking her out to make room for baby. We wanted this room to feel special and unique to just her.
My advice when styling a new room is to start with one piece and work your around it. In this case, it was this darling metal toddler bed we got from Ikea. I thought this bed was so sweet with the feminine details, but also love the functionality aspect (it converts from a toddler bed to a twin). Along with this bed, I was also drawn to a light pastel color palette I found on Pinterest and it reminded me a lot of a rainbow. Hence the name, “chasing rainbows” was created. I am having so much fun collecting pieces for this space and can’t wait to show you the finished product!

Both this room and the nursery have taken on a boho vibe which I’m loving. I can’t wait to see Tayler grow into this space and stay tuned when I reveal the finished product! Hoping to have it done in the next few weeks!
After I am doing styling this project, I will move onto the new nursery. I decided to get rid of everything we had previously, and start fresh with a new palette and furniture (some old, new and re-purposed). Nursery inspiration post coming to you soon!
