fall fashion at macy's.

I am so excited because Fall Fashion is starting to hit the stores and if you know me, you know I love Fall! What's not to love? Flannels, football, boots, pumpkin spice everything...do you need me to continue?! I am much more of a Fall fashion lover than Summer attire. To me, Fall fashion feels much more put together because of the opportunity to layer.

I was asked by the local Macy's Alderwood Mall to style a few mannequins in preparation for their Fall Fashion event and I was so excited after checking out their Fall Lookbook. I took inspiration from the Lookbook, but then added my own flare and style. Here are the trends I'm loving below.

the trends

Plaid blazers: I love mixing them with unexpected items like these striped jeans {I am sort of obsessed with these jeans}. They are great for dressing up or down and can easily be worn for work or play. These belt bags are a huge trend for the season {cute and functional...yes, please}! I styled a mock neck shirt with feminine ruffle detail underneath. Style tip: tuck in a shirt all the way underneath a more masculine item such as a blazer.

Black and white: Classic, yet you can have some fun with it by adding pops of color like this red bag. I styled this cotton pencil shirt {so comfy and flattering} with this darling printed top and spiced it up a bit with a suede moto jacket {something everyone should have in their wardrobe}.

Wide leg pants: A must have this Fall, and perfect for work or play.  I'm loving the mix of athletic wear with something a bit classier like a crisp white button-down shirt. I styled these striped pants in two different ways because they were just too good!

Look #2: Vintage throwbacks: Not only are tracksuits making a comeback but so are Levi's graphic tees and bomber jackets, the 90's are back people, and I'm over here having my 90120 moment. I am also loving embellishments, like the stud details on this circular crossbody bag.

If you happen to stop by the Macy's Alderwood this week you can check out my mannequins! Macy's is also participating in the Big Give Back which is taking place now until August 15th! Customers can choose to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Snohomish County, Academic Link Outreach or Progressive Animal Welfare Society Charities. The charity that raises the most funds at each store will receive a matched donation from Macy’s, up to $1,000! Make sure to shop and donate to an amazing cause at your local Macy's!
