why i care about my skincare routine in my 30's.

Since being in my 30's I've noticed how my skin has started to change. It's more dry, blotchy, and unbalanced {especially in the winter}. I have never had a go-to skincare brand and I've always mixed and matched products for the sake of saving money and not wanting to take the time to research what I was putting on my skin. I'll be 100% real with you guys, I am blessed with good genes and a lot of my friends always comment on how amazing my complexion is. I don't get pimples or have scars from acne, but I still don't feel 100% confident with my complexion without makeup on.

I knew that I needed to change my skincare routine, but I didn't know where to turn to get information. Enter, my now good friend Janene with Passion Infused Life.  I met Janene at a styling event, and I remember I couldn't stop staring at her amazing complexion. So as we got to talking I finally just asked her what kind of skincare products she used. She started to tell me about a brand called Beauty Counter.  I had heard of them before, but I had never given any thought to trying it. Turns out, she was a skincare expert for the company {anyone can do this who is interested} because she loved the product so much and was passionate about sharing organic skincare with others. There are SO MANY chemicals in the everyday products we use, why should we be using them on our skin also? The Beauty Counter mission is to get safe products into the hands of all Americans. They offer skincare, beauty, bath & body, and even baby products. When she offered to give me some samples to try, I was all in! I mean if my skin could look half as good as hers I was definitely going to try it!

After 4 months of using it, I AM HOOKED. My skin isn't as dry, my complexion has a natural glow to it and I never have to use a makeup wipe or toner again! The gratification I get knowing that I'm using a Non-GMO, organic based product that is not only good for my skin but also for the environment makes it all the more rewarding. Since getting turned on to Beauty Counter, I started researching other organic skin & beauty products and that's where I found OSEA Malibu, they are another natural skincare line that I am loving! Each line has something different to offer, so I'm slowly incorporating new things into the mix to see what I like best. I will be honest, these products are probably a lot more expensive than what you are used to paying, but trust me when I say IT'S WORTH IT! They also tend to last a lot longer because you don't need to use as much of it.

here are my current favorites

  1. Cleansing balm: This is the most amazing cleanser for a couple reasons. It acts as a make-up remover so you never have to use makeup wipes again (it even takes of mascara!), it's great for using morning and night, and although the jar may seem expensive (it's $80), it will last you FOREVER.
  2. Countermatch moisturizer: Lightweight, but super effective for smoother, healthier looking skin.
  3. Vitamin C Oil: I use this after my moisturizer (either day or night depending on how dry I am). A little bit goes a long way so it lasts forever!
  4. Brightening Facial Mist: I use this in the AM before I put my tinted moisturizer on and it helps give me an extra dewey look.
  5. Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer: The name says it all. It gives you a bit of tint with a whole lot of dewey goodness!
  6. Sea Vitamin Boost: I prefer this one for days when I'm not wearing makeup to help with dry skin. It's the perfect pick me up and perfect for traveling when your skin needs a refresh after being on the plane.
  7. Vitamin C Probiotic Face Polish: This is magic! I have never used an exfoliator that worked this well and left my skin so soft and not dried out. It's worth every penny {I use it 2-3 x a week}.
  8. Firming Eye & Lip Cream: This is great for areas around your eyes and mouth for preventing wrinkles.
