how i feel about turning 34.

I can almost guess a lot of you are shocked that I am turning 34. I only say this because when I tell people my age I almost immediately get the “No way!” reaction. I guess I can thank my parents for good genetics. But I also think it has a lot to do with my vibrant personality and the fact that I don’t really act my age. Although, I don't really know how are we supposed to act in our 30’s. I say this every year, but I still feel 21 {although the hangovers do last a bit longer now}. Either way, age is just a number. I know everyone says that, but it truly is. It’s your mindset that matters and this year on my birthday, I am feeling better than ever! Perhaps this has to do with my recent journey eating a ketogenic diet {I have more energy than I know what to do with! You can read more about that here}, but I think more importantly it has to do with the fact that I am doing what I love for a living. Even sitting here writing this post blog, I’m pinching myself that part of my job is to write content like this and share it with you. Yes, I will admit, sometimes it’s exhausting because it never shuts off and working for yourself is hard as hell. But doing what your passionate about can completely change your entire outlook on life. I can also attribute it to my amazing 2 year old daughter who constantly keeps me on my toes and keeps me laughing! She is such a little character. And yes, we want more, and we are actually attempting sometime in the near future to give her a sibling. I have major baby fever!

happy birthday to me

So what’s on the agenda for my birthday? I am heading to Portland tomorrow with one of my bff’s Nicole for a girls weekend. Wes will be in Detroit for a Seahawks game so I decided what a better time to get away for some girl time than on my bday. I also plan on doing some major retail therapy since Oregon is a tax-free state {lord help me}! I usually always have a big social gathering on my birthday, but this year I’m happy to keep it low-key. We are most excited to sleep-in honestly {Nicole just had her second baby, so she really needs the sleep} and not be on a time schedule. So this is 34. We’ll see how long we actually stay up tomorrow night {LOL}!

about my look

My entire look is under $100 (sweater, jeans, and shoes), can you belive that!? I couldn’t resist this mustard colored sweater when I saw it in the store - and no, I don’t need another freaking sweater, but I don’t have one this color and guess what? It’s only $24.99! There is something about wearing colors that match the Fall foliage that just make me so happy. I also scored these jeans for under $50 and they are a great fit, run true to size and have a good amount of stretch. And if you don’t own a pair of tortoiseshell earrings yet, jump on the bandwagon! I found some that are as cheap as $7! Leopard is everywhere right now and I found these last year, but I was able to find almost the same ones at a few different price points.
