Happy New Year!!! I always love this time of year. It means I can start fresh and set goals for the year ahead. If you saw my last post, you learned that I tend to neglect most things in life during the holidays {i.e., eating healthy, staying organized, being on top of work, etc.} so I always look forward to the new year as a chance to start over!

Instead of coming up with resolutions, I like to set goals for myself, or as I'm calling them this year - Intentions. I want to live a more intentional life, meaning, I want each day to have a purpose. I feel like because of my "A.D.D" type personality I'm always sort-of overwhelmed and all over the place. I have so many passions and as a part-time stay at home Mom, I don't have much time to get everything done. But I fault myself for this because I don't go into each day with a clear path. I know that if I set intentions for myself every day, then I wouldn't get too down on myself when I didn't check things off my never-ending to-do lists.

Here are my 2018 intentions:

  1. Be healthy: and not just at the start of the year - all the time. I am currently on a 21 day detox {no caffeine, alcohol, sugar, dairy or gluten}. This is always a great jump start for me to remember to eat healthily and exercise more because I always feel SOOOO good when I'm done that I barely miss anything I gave up {well, let's be honest, I'll never give up my iced coffee}. My goal is to exercise at least 4 days a week and on the days I'm not at the gym, to go for a quick walk around the neighborhood. The fresh air helps too when you're cooped up inside all day!
  2. Set daily goals: Each night before bed I have been writing a to-do list and at the very top of the list is my #1 intention for the next day. Meaning, if I was only able to get one thing accomplished that day, it would be that, and I'd be happy.
  3. Do more, talk less: I feel like I'm always talking about doing things, but then I never just DO IT. There is always a trip I want to take, and business venture I want to explore, or a coffee date I say I'm going to schedule ... so this year, I'm DOING IT! I already actually accomplished this before the new year even started when Wes and I talked about taking a baby-free trip somewhere sunny, so the next day I booked us a trip to San Diego {more on that coming soon}!
  4. Reduce, reuse, recycle: As a style blogger & wardrobe stylist, it's no surprise I'm ALWAYS shopping. Yes, I need to do this for my job, but it also starts to get a little excessive and then I'm left with things in my closet that I never wear. So this year, if I buy something new, something old has to go! Don't worry, I'll give you all first dibs {you can shop what I currently have for sale here}.
  5. Be present: I say this every year, but I really want to focus on this. Being in the social media generation {especially when it's your job}, I feel so attached to my phone. Instead of scrolling through Instagram right when I wake up and before I go to bed, I want to read books, have more date nights with my husband and spend more time just being silly and playing with Tayler.
  6. Put things away: This may sound silly, but I'm HORRIBLE at this {just ask my husband}! I once read in a blog post, that the easiest way to have an organized life is to put things away as you go. I remember thinking to myself "Well, duh." But really it's so true! Instead of just changing out of my clothes at night and throwing them onto my bench in my room, I need to walk my ass downstairs and hang it up! That way, I'm not left with a huge pile of clothes to sort through at the end of the week.

So, what are YOUR intentions for 2018? I'm dying to know! I always love hearing from you guys! Leave your comments below.
