office reveal.

Ever since I decided to start my own business and continue blogging full-time, I have been longing for an office. A place that I could walk into and take a deep breath because it's pretty, organized and clean. Up until now, I've been working on a desk that was in the corner of our downstairs living room {a.k.a man cave}. Simply said, it wasn't pretty enough for me, not to mention, it was right in the center of chaos with the TV on and baby playing in the background. I desperately needed a space that I could close the door and focus, without any distractions. I'm a very visual person, so of course, the space had to be aesthetically pleasing and super girly.

We have a 3 bedroom house so this room used to be the guest room. But when we loaned our guest bed to my Mom temporarily, I thought to myself, we don't have enough guests to justify giving up an entire room. I'm only okay with this because there is a chance we will be embarking on a major addition to our home {more on that coming soon if we decide to move forward}. So for now, they can sleep on our giant couch, which is super comfy anyway.

It was seriously good timing when Faith of Simply Organized Tulsa contacted me to collaborate on an organizational project. I needed help designing my new office since I have so much stuff for my styling business and Stella & Dot inventory. She came up with some great solutions, such as: hanging my hats and jewelry on the wall to save space, and purchasing bins for my bookshelf to store important documents, etc. Faith has been a personal organizer for 9 years and loves to help people get oganized! She believes that an organized home creates a peaceful life, and let me tell you, she is right!  I instantly felt more creative and had more energy to work once everything was organized and pretty. I have been in a major creative funk this Summer, mainly because I didn't have a proper work space and I was overwhelmed with the clutter. So I dedicated my entire labor day weekend to perfecting this space {and cleaning out my closet...stay tuned} and I couldn't be happeier with the way it turned out! Thanks for the virutal organizing session, Faith! I couldn't have done it without you.

I love the idea of using items you already own as wall art, like these hats!

I love to be different, so I opted to leave this wall art stacked on the floor to fill in this space and I love how it turned out!
