home for the holidays.

Usually, for the holidays, we are traveling, either to the East Coast where my Dad lives or to California where my immediate family is. Wes's family is local and so is my Mom, so this year we decided to spend Christmas at home. To me, the holidays are about being present and enjoying the moments at home with the ones you love. This is why I particularly love decorating my house for the holidays. Who doesn't want to cozy up on their couch with a cup of coffee {or mulled wine} and listen to Christmas music and stare at the twinkle lights? There is just something so peaceful about it, and it makes me seriously happy.

SHOP METALLIC/LED LIGHT DECOR

This year, I went a little crazy with the Hearth & Hand with Magnolia for Target holiday collection. They really nailed the holiday decor with all the plaids and monocromatic colors. In the past, my christmas decor was very "christmasy", meaing it had a lot of red and green, but the past few years I've really enjoyed just doing a simple tree with white and red lights and metallic ornaments. I am attracted to anyting that spakrles so of course, I have collected all the LED trees, stars and branches over the years. It probably takes me 10 minutes just to turn everything on and off, but I don't care because they are just so darn pretty! Since most of my decor is older, I tried to link similar items as best I could.
